Number of Scottish coronavirus deaths reaches 60

Image
Source: BBC News A further 13 people with #coronavirus have died in #Scotland, bringing the total to 60. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said a total of 1,993 people had now tested positive for the virus, up from 1,563 on Monday. Ms Sturgeon said this partially explained the big increase in the number of positive tests. But she stressed that the actual number of cases of Covid-19 in Scotland is likely to be far higher than the figures show. There are currently 135 patients with the virus in hospital intensive care units - an increase of 27 from Monday.

The UK may face scarcity of ventilators

Image
The UK may not have all the ventilators it needs by the time #coronavirus cases in the country reach their peak, engineering firms warned. Health officials expect the UK to experience its highest number of infections in around two weeks' time. The UK has just over 8,000 ventilators, significantly fewer than the 30,000 the government estimates are needed to cope with the fallout from the peak. Manufacturers told the BBC they cannot produce enough to meet that deadline.

Erdogan should be tried by International Criminal Court for supporting terrorism

Image
President Erdogan’s office sent a letter to the heads of religious minorities in Turkey demanding that they sign it and send it back to the President. In that letter, Erdogan falsely claimed that Turkey was alone on the forefront of the fight against international terrorism. Contrary to Erdogan’s claims, there have been dozens of reports in the international media proving that Turkey was in fact on the forefront of those assisting ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq. Ahmet S. Yayla is someone who has first-hand knowledge of the Turkish government’s support for ISIS as he was the chief of counterterrorism and operations in Turkey from 2010 to 2013, and chief of public order and criminal investigations in Sanliurfa, Turkey, from 2013 to 2014. Sanliurfa was the endpoint of the ISIS “jihadi highway.” Yayla wrote an in-depth article on March 6, 2020, in The Investigative Journal, exposing Erdogan’s complicity in terrorism. The article was titled, “Try Erdogan at the International Crimi...

From 28th March 2015, the area of Richard III's tomb was open to the public.   Read More:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhumation_and_reburial_of_Richard_III_of_England

Homosexuals in Iran are having sex reassignment surgery to avoid execution

Image
According to reports within Iran, the country has around 4,000 sex reassignment surgeries every year, in an attempt to purge homosexuality from the Islamic Republic. Life for gay men in Iran continues to be a psychological nightmare. In the Islamic Republic, homosexuality is illegal and punishments usually range anywhere from torture to public executions. The Iranian regime's treatment of transexuals, however, seems on the surface to be a different matter altogether. Transsexuality was legalized in Iran in 1987 and the country has the second-highest number of sex reassignment surgeries (SRSs) per year, second only to Thailand. However, in an interview with the British Sun newspaper, Iranian-born activist Shadi Amin claimed that the reason for this high number of SRSs in the country is not as accepting as it may seem on paper. According to Amin, the Iranian government gives gay men the choice to go through the surgery in place of being tortured or executed. Amin said t...

Iran is gambling with the lives of its citizens.

Image
Iran ruled out "foreign" help on the ground to deal with the #coronavirus pandemic after an offer from a France-based medical charity, as the country's death toll from the contagion neared 2,000. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said Sunday it planned to send a nine-member team and equipment to set up a 50-bed hospital, stirring opposition from ultra-conservative circles in the Islamic Republic who alleged MSF staff would serve as "spies". MSF said on Tuesday it did not understand a decision by Iranian authorities to cancel a mission it had prearranged to set up a facility to fight coronavirus in Isfahan. #CoronavirusLockdown

Emmanuel Macron accuses Erdogan of meddling in Libya conflict

Image
French President Emmanuel Macron has accused his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan of breaking his promise to stay out of Libya. Mr Macron said Turkish warships accompanied by Syrian mercenaries had been spotted arriving in Libyan. Turkey supports the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli. Since April 2019, the GNA has fought back against an offensive launched by fighters loyal to Gen Haftar. Mr Macron said the presence of Turkish warships was "a clear violation" of what President Erdogan had pledged in Berlin on 19 January during a conference on Libya with other world leaders. Mr Macron called Turkey's actions "detrimental to the security of all Europeans and Sahelians".

2,000 Syrian fighters deployed to Libya by Turkey Govertment

Image
Two thousand Syrian fighters have traveled from Turkey or will arrive imminently to fight on the battlefields of Libya, Syrian sources in all three countries have said, in an unprecedented development that threatens to further complicate the north African state’s intractable civil war. The deployment came after Turkey agreed last month to come to the aid of the Libyan prime minister, Fayez al-Sarraj. An initial deployment of 300 men from the second division of the Syrian National Army (SNA), an umbrella of Syrian rebel groups funded by Turkey, left Syria through the Hawar Kilis military border crossing on 24 December, followed by 350 more on 29 December. They were then flown to Tripoli, the Libyan capital, where they have been posted to frontline positions in the east of the city.

The UK Prime Minister has warned "tougher measures" could be introduced due to coronavirus pandemic

Image
Source: BBC Boris Johnson has warned "tougher measures" could be introduced if people do not take the government's coronavirus advice seriously. The PM thanked people for making sacrifices but said people must follow social distancing guidance. "If you don't do it responsibly... we will have to bring forward further measures," he said. It comes as the number of UK deaths reached 281, including a person aged 18 with an underlying health condition. Speaking at Downing Street's daily news conference, Mr Johnson told people going to parks they "have to do that responsibly". It comes after pictures showed people across parts of the UK visiting parks and open spaces in large numbers over the weekend.

"Greece is closing it's border to asylum seekers, and they are right to do so"

Image
Greece closed its borders to asylum seekers coming from #Turkey due to the #coronavirus outbreak & they are right to do so, Greece has at least seven cases of coronavirus so far. The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, announced that the country would not be accepting any new asylum applications for at least one month. He also said the country's national security council had decided "to increase the level of deterrence at our borders to the maximum." The Greek prime minister had announced increased border security against migrants last week, citing coronavirus concerns. "Migration is now taking on a new dimension, as flows to Greece include people from Iran where we have had many cases of coronavirus and many passing through Afghanistan," he said at a ministerial meeting on February 27. "Our islands, therefore, already burdened with public health issues, need to be protected twice."

"Coronavirus hits terrorists hardest from ISIS to Iran"

Image
Iran is the paradigm case of a regime sponsoring terrorism which is known to be getting hit harder than any other countries besides China and Italy. The Islamic Republic is notoriously dishonest about numbers which can hurt its public relations. Most significantly, top Iranian leaders, including an ayatollah, ministers and senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials have been killed and infected by the coronavirus. In that vein, much of Iran’s top leadership, including Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (who incidentally has not been seen during the crisis), are in the more endangered “elderly” category. There are no statistics for how it is impacting ISIS supporters and will be none as the group would never report negative data and has no connections to international groups like the WHO or the civilized world. But ISIS’s stunning recent order to its followers to stay away from Europe means not only that it is afraid of future infection if its agents go there, but...

"A person dies of coronavirus every 10 minutes in Iran"

Image
Iran’s health ministry said on Thursday that a person is dying of coronavirus every ten minutes in #Iran. After weeks of skewed numbers and accusations of downplaying or covering up the coronavirus prevalence in Iran, the Tehran government is finally voicing the horrifying extent of the problem in its borders. “Based on our information, every ten minutes one person dies from the coronavirus and some 50 people become infected with the virus every hour in Iran,” Kianush Jahanpur, the spokesperson for Iran’s health ministry, tweeted. The embattled nation’s official death toll this week soared past 1,000, making it the third-highest globally behind Italy and China, where the disease started. However, political opposition groups highlight that the statistics inside the Islamic Republic are even gloomier – indicating that upwards of 7,000 individuals have succumbed to the contagion.

Image
Doctor Güle Çınar was forced to apologize after saying in a secret footage that there are thousands of coronavirus cases in Turkey contrary to the numbers cited by officials. “The number of cases is at thousands. In a footage recorded secretly during a conference given to medical professionals in Ankara University Faculty of Medicine’s Ä°bni Sina Hospital, doctor Güle Çınar is heard saying that there are thousands of coronavirus cases, as she was talking about the precautions need to be taken at hospitals. “The number of cases is at thousands. The numbers are not at hundreds as officials reveal. It’s now in the society and Istanbul is in a terrible condition. It also started terrible in Ankara,” Çınar says in the video that surfaced on social media on March 18. Following the incident, Ankara University Faculty of Medicine forced Çınar to apologize in a written statement, in addition to launching an investigation into the doctor.

Report reveals 34 Qatar World Cup stadium worker deaths in six years

Image
Nine migrant labourers working on the stadiums for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar died in 2019, the “supreme committee” organising the event has announced, bringing the number of deaths on World Cup projects to 34, since construction began six years ago. The latest figures, released in its annual report on workers’ welfare, include four workers who died of so-called natural causes and three who were killed in a company bus accident. There were no deaths caused by workplace accidents in 2019. The supreme committee said it investigates each death to identify contributory factors and preventative measures. “Any loss of life on our programme is deeply saddening,” said Hassan Al Thawadi, the head of the supreme committee, in the report. Qatari law and the supreme committee’s worker welfare standards do not require companies to pay compensation for non-work related deaths. However, in October the Guardian revealed that Qatar rarely carries out post-mortems when a migrant...

Iranian Authority hides the truth about coronavirus pandemic

Image
Iran has been accused of lying about the number of its coronavirus cases, The mullahs knew that the virus was in Iran but covered it up and did not make any announcements to warn the people. They have been lying about the escalating threat of the coronavirus, COVID-19, which has spread to all 31 of Iran's provinces. The mullahs are claiming that fewer than 50 people have died and only 500 have contracted the disease. In fact, based on reports from inside Iran, resistance units of the main opposition MEK announced Tuesday that the number of deaths due to coronavirus is over 20 times that number, exceeding 1,200. These clumsy attempts at cover-up and deception are aimed at hiding the fact that the mullahs' regime failed to take any effective preventive measures to deal with the spread of the virus, including the quarantine of cities where the virus was raging. Until only a few days ago, it had also refused to halt flights to China. The IRGC's Mahan Air flights continued...

Manchester Arena bombing Hashem Abedi guilty of 22 murders

Image
The brother of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi has been found guilty of murdering 22 people. Hashem Abedi had denied helping to plan the "sudden and lethal" blast which killed or injured "nearly 1,000". Prosecutors said Hashem was "jointly responsible" with his brother for the attack on 22 May 2017. The Manchester-born siblings "stood shoulder to shoulder" in the plot, with younger sibling Hashem "just as guilty of murder" as the bomber himself, the court heard. Hashem, was also found guilty of one count of attempted murder, encompassing the remaining injured, and conspiring to cause explosions. He was not in court for the unanimous verdicts after he dismissed his legal team last week and decided to take no further part in the trial.

Qatar Human Rights Reform Efforts Fails

Image
Migrant workers, asylum seekers, stateless people, and women in Qatar remained susceptible to abuse in 2019 despite new laws and regulations aimed at better protecting human rights, Human Rights Watch said today in its World Report 2020 . Qatar has also turned away asylum seekers, despite a 2018 refugee asylum law, and entire families arbitrarily made stateless starting in 1996 have remained deprived of key human rights with no clear avenues for reclaiming their revoked citizenship. Stateless members of the Ghufran clan, whose Qatari citizenship authorities arbitrarily withdrew more than a decade ago, remained deprived of their rights to work, obtain health care, receive an education, marry, start a family, and own property, as well as their freedom of movement. In 2019, Qatar made no commitments to rectify their status. https://www.hrw.org/news/2020/01/14/qatar-reform-efforts-fail-remedy-rights-abuses

"We shouldn’t have been treated like guinea pigs over coronavirus" Wanye Rooney

Wayne Rooney has slammed the UK Government over their treatment of the coronavirus pandemic in his Sunday Times column. He claimed Brits have been "treated like guinea pigs" & footballers have been treated appallingly throughout the crisis. He reserved special criticism for Prime Minister who "dodged" important questions, including those regarding sport and school closures. "Our worry was not ourselves — we’re strong enough to get over it — but our families, our friends, everyone we come into contact with. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/we-shouldnt-have-been-treated-like-guinea-pigs-over-coronavirus-lives-were-at-risk-pbr20znfn

Since then, Ankara has sent between 3,000 and 4,000 Syrian proxies to Tripoli. Every week more flights carrying fighters take off from Gaziantep. Adnan, 40, an officer from Al Hamza brigade, left Turkey on January 10 with 30 of his men. He says others joined him later. Mansur continues to send reinforcements. "We were brought to Turkey one evening via the Kilis border crossing," said Adnan, who is from Homs. "Turkish military buses took us to Gaziantep and from there we boarded a commercial flight. There were even flight attendants and meal trays,” he says. MIT allegedly organized several meetings of this type with tribal or military leaders to mobilize an army of mercenaries. Iran Has Far More Coronavirus Cases Than It Is Telling The World

Image
According to Johns Hopkins University’s Coronavirus Resource Center, Iran has reported 6,566 COVID-19 cases or about one in every 12,000 people in its population. The first case appeared on February 19. Right now Iran is third behind China (80,695) and South Korea (7,314), and just ahead of Italy (5,883). But the official Iranian number is almost certainly an undercount, probably due to the Iranian government’s attempt to hide a desperate situation for which it is partially responsible. The first sign of dishonesty came on February 28, when Masoumeh Ebtekar, one of the country’s vice presidents, announced that she had the virus, Ebtekar is one of the most famous politicians in the country. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/03/irans-coronavirus-problem-lot-worse-it-seems/607663/
