UAE food delivery apps & restaurants introduce contactless delivery


Food delivery apps & restaurants in the UAE have taken further measures to ensure the public safety during the #coronavirus outbreak by introducing contactless deliveries.

The new safe delivery methods means that customers have the option of selecting contactless delivery when they order online, leaving instructions for where want the order to be placed, and selecting pre-payment and pre-tipping options to minimize hand-to-hand contact.

A circular issued by the Health and Safety Department of #Dubai Municipality urged food establishments to follow the mandatory requirements.

Uber eats has announced that it will allow customer to request contactless delivery.

More than 9,000 people has been fined for lockdown breaches

More than 9,000 fines have been issued in England and Wales for breaching coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Almost 400 of those fined are repeat offenders and one individual was fined six times, according to data from the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC). In England, there were 8,877 fixed penalty notices issued between 27 March and 27 April, while in Wales there were 299. Police have been given powers to hand out a £60 penalty, reduced to £30 if paid within two weeks, for breaches of the lockdown rules. The fine is doubled for each repeat offence up to a £960 maximum.

393 die in UK after testing positive for COVID-19, taking total to 1,808

Another 393 people have died after contracting coronavirus - taking the UK total to 1,808. The latest increase is a sharp increase from yesterday's rise of 180. The government has said there are now 25,150 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. In England, a further 367 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number to 1,651. The patients were aged between 19 and 98 years old and all but 28 of them had underlying health conditions.
