3 Turkish men sentenced to 125 years each over drowning of 3 year old Syrian boy Alan
Three Turkish men were sentenced this week to 125 years in jail for their part in the drowning of a boy whose death in 2015 became a worldwide symbol of the suffering caused by the Syrian war and the European refugee crisis it triggered.
The men, who were the organizers of a trafficking ring, were captured by Turkey security forces this week in the southern province of Adana and sentenced on Friday, according to state news agency Andalou.
They were on the run after fleeing during their trial.
