Five New Britons confirmed to have contracted coronavirus

Five new Britons have contracted coronavirus in France, the French health minister has said.

Health Minister Agnes Buzyn said the Britons, including one child, were diagnosed with the virus after coming into contact with a person who had been in Singapore.

All five had been staying in the same chalet in a ski resort, Les Contamines-Montjoie, in the mountainous region of Savoie in eastern France.

They were hospitalized in the region overnight and are not in a serious condition.

More than 34,000 people are now infected around the world, including three in the UK.
